Tiresias
Tiresias was Zeus's prophet. His mother was Chariclo (a nymph) and his father was Everes (a shepherd).
Blinded by the Gods for revealing their secrets, his mother begged Athena to undo her curse, but Athena could not; instead, she cleaned his ears, giving him the ability to understand birdsong, thus the gift of augury.
Unable to 'take the auspices' of his compatriot the finch, who was held up en route by a hungry cat; he didn't see his own hubris or his inevitable fall from grace with the Gods.
The viewer must discern the prophet's face (clue: one eye is scarred where he gashed it out, upon finding he was struck blind) from the cracks and shadows in two old doors in a Chinese alleyway.
